The Optics Contingency System (Patent Pending), or OCS, is the first iron sight system with a rear sight designed to sit entirely below the shooter’s optic window in a sight picture. This is why we feel they’re the best backup iron sights for handguns on the market.

Some benefits include:

  • Completely unobstructed view of your optic.
  • Unparalleled downrange visibility – providing that extra and FINAL split second for decision making that you otherwise won’t have.
  • Seamless integration of a backup sight picture, requiring minimal to no adjustment for a backup shot.
  • Better presentation consistency for new shooters due to the peripheral recognition of the irons on the draw stroke.
  • Immediate and automatic feedback on why you can’t find the dot – You’re way off on height or windage, or it’s BROKEN.
  • Better for use with passive night vision aiming due to the open visibility – tritium will be blurry, dot in focus for easy identification.
  • Better for low light conditions than fiber optic sights or blackout irons.
  • Inherently suppressor height iron sights for g19, g17, g34, g43x (holds most optimized for G17 through g34.
  • Tritium for optimal low light performance.

The OCS rear sight is optimized to pair with most direct mounted RMR type optics or with a common, thin adapter plate such as C&H or Forward Controls Design. The front sight is the narrowest post with the thinnest white ring and largest tritium vial combination available, and tuned to be as inconspicuous as possible when not in use, but ever present and easily found in an emergency.

For an unparalleled open view downrange while still maintaining a faster backup sight acquisition if you present your firearm and do not see the optic reticle. These sights will allow a transitionless backup shot and aid in helping both to acquire a functioning reticle, and to recognize if it isn’t present.

The OCS allows you to absorb more information downrange to inform any last moment changes in decision to fire.

Made in the USA in partnership with XS Sights out of black oxide coated carbon steel. Includes screws and sight set. Sight installation tools including G style front are not included as torque wrenches are recommended.  For tools, look here: https://xssights.com/products/product-families/installation-tools/

Compatible with most Glock type pistols, primarily for G19, G17 or G34 barrel lengths. Due to widely varying tolerances across the market, some filing to fit may be required, and screws are included that thread into the rear sight to secure to the sloppiest of Glock slides.

Description

The Optic Contingency System is the best and newest backup iron sight set on the market for Glock, Canik or Sig.  Made in the USA, the backup iron sight set OCS, or Optic Contingency System is the first geometry designed to sit entirely below your optic window while maintaining functionality in your sight picture simultaneously.  This gives you an unparalleled field of view, where other handgun optic backup iron sights obstruct significant portions of your downrange visibility.  The Patent Pending OCS is the first of its kind and is manufactured in partnership with XS Sights. This is why we contend that the OCS, or Optics Contingency System, are the best backup iron sights for handguns on the market.

After switching from standard suppressor height sights, I find the big advantage of the OCS system is you can get a useful iron sight picture without needs extremely tall sights that intrude into the optic window. The OCS rear sight is only about the same height as a stock Glock rear, but works great for iron sight shooting.

You forget about them when you’re using the dot, but having tested these from the holster with the dot “malfunctioning”, they’re very intuitive to pick up and align when you find the dot is missing.

Maybe post and dot is slightly less precise than U-notch sights, but for defensive shooting distances, I find the OCS irons to work great- almost magnetic in their ease of alignment.
